EMERALD VERSION
LEGENDARY POKEMON FAQ
- -Introduction- -
This FAQ tells you how to catch the legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Emerald Version. If you have
any questions, contact me at [email protected] READ THE DIRECTIONS FIRST, unless you want
to say,"You could have told me that earlier," when you don't have something and realize it is
there in capital letters.
1. RAYQUAZA
Rayquaza can be found at Sky Pillar after having it calm Kyogre and Groudon. Sky Pillarcan be found on the south side of the map on a small island north of the Route 131, through
a small group of boulders.
When you find it, go into the cave and head upwards, then exit the cave. Head a little
further up and enter the cave. You'll notice that the cave is different, but it's not that
hard. The following floors are, though.
When you enter the second floor, head one space right and get out your bike. Ride
straight through the cracks until you hit the wall. Now do the same going left. This is where
it gets harder. Head to the space left of the bottom left corner of the room. Ride your bike
straight and turn right quickly and head up again quickly.
When you enter the third floor, simply walk around the rocks like you did on the first
floor.
When you enter the fourth floor, get your bike out and head straight and turn left on the
middle crack of the next three, then when you're about to hit the rock, head upwards quickly.
Now head to the up-side of the rocks between the two previous cracks. Head upwards with your
bike and turn right and stop as soon as you pass the first crack so you fall in the two middle
cracks. You'll be returned to the third floor, and head up the stairs. Go up the staircase to
your left.
When you enter the fifth floor, simply walk around the rocks like you did on the first and
third floor. SAVE!
Rayquaza is right up the path. When you challenge it, make sure you weaken it... a lot,
because it is Level 70! A Pokemon around Level 65 will do, just don't use your strongest attacks.
Stock many Hyper Potions, because it's Outrage attack devastates. Throw the recommended Ultra
Ball when it confuses itself at low HP and it should be captured in a few tries, depending on
the condition.
2. GROUDON
Groudon is available after calming it down at Sootopolis. Go to the Weather Insitute where
you received a Castform and talk to the scientist on the second floor on the computer. He will
either say that there is a drought or heavy rainfall in a certain route. If it's a drought, go
to the specified route.
When you arrive, you'll notice the screen will be brighter and beaming every second. That
means that you are close. Search for a cave entrance, usually found by surfing in the nearby
water and finding new land. Once you find it, enter Terra Cave.
After breezing through the first room and SAVING, you'll enter a steamy room with a pool
of lava. Walk around the wall and you'll see Groudon. Walk up to the pool of lava in Groudon's
direction and it will challenge you. It isn't all that tough, but watch out for his Solar Beam
the turns after he absorbs sunlight. Sometimes, a Great Ball works better after bringing it's
HP down.
3. KYOGRE
Kyogre is available after calming it down at Sootopolis. Go to the Weather Institute where
you received a Castform and talk to the scientist on the second floor on the computer. He will
either say that there is a drought ot heavy rainfall. If it's heavy rainfall, go to the specified
route and search for a lone square diving area. Dive once you find it.
Head upwards from where you start and head into the cave. From there, use Dive to resurface
and head into the cave up ahead. After breezing through the first room and SAVING, you'll enter
a misty room will body of water. Walk around the wall and you'll see Kyogre. Walk up to the body
of water in Kyogre's direction and challenge you. Like Groudon, it isn't tough, but it has a tad
higher critical hit ratio. Sometimes, Ultra Balls work on it when its HP is low.

! NOTICE !
! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Have you seen one of the three small hills with six rocks surrounding it? If so, then you've
probably found it suspicious and tried to dig and/or use Rock Smash. Did it work? No, it's a little
harder than that.
First, try to catch a Relicanth (Underwater routes 124-126) and a Wailord (North of Mossdeep).
Then you must use Fly to get to Pacifidlog, and head west using Surf. With the waves and all, it is
hard finding the place where you have to use Dive, but I'll tell you my way.
After surfing from Pacifidlog, head downwards until you find the lowest possible wave to ride on
and head into it. A trainer will challenge you at the end of the ride. After the battle, head to the
bottom left rock of the island and around it wher the sea and the rock are between you. Use Surf and
you'll be taken to another island. Go to the bottom left corner and use Surf. Two trainers await you
in the lone, still area, but they are avoidable. Ride the short wave to the next island and grab the
item. Now head to the very bottom of the island where it the land resembles a hill and use Surf. You'll
be taken to one last island. Head to the bottom left corner and walk three spaces upward. Use Surf and
you arrive at the place where you use Dive.
Once underwater, head down and use Dive in front of the braille. You'll end up in a cave with
numerous rocks with Braille. Ignore them and head to the back wall. Use dig in the middle of the Braille.
Don't worry, it will say that it will return you to Underwater, but it will actually open up a cavern.
Now put Wailord as the first Pokemon in your party and Relicanth as your last. Read the Braille and an
earthquake will be triggered. The caves where the Regis reside are now open.
4. REGICE
Regice is located in Route 105. Surf south on Route 104 on the left side until you hit two islands
with trees on them and a trainer running back and forth. Get off on the first island and walk around it.
Surf north here until you reach a cave on an island. Enter the cave.
Inside is Braille writing that says to walk along the walls starting from the middle of the Braille
until youreach the starting point. The cave will open. SAVE!
Inside the cave is Regice. I must warn you, though, the Regis are very hard to catch (Emphasis on
"very", and emphasis on the emphasis). Fortunately, Regice is the easiest to catch. Walk up to it and
it will challenge you. The attack you want it to use is Super Power (Which lowers its Attack and Defense)
and the attack you don't want it to use is Curse (Lowers Speed but increases Attack and Defense). Once
its HP is low, use a Timer Ball after many turns, but like I said, it may take BRAZILLIONS of Pokeballs
even if you follow this.
5. REGIROCK
Ah, Regirock. Not my friend when it comes to being captured. It is located in Route 111. Head north
from Mauville and enter the desert. Head south until you see a cave. Enter the cave. SAVE!
Inside is Braille writing that says to use Rock Smash TWO SPACES LEFT and TWO SPACES DOWN from the
middle of the Braille writing. The cave will open. Inside the cave is Regirock. Unfortunately, Regirock is
harder to catch than Regice. Walk up to it and it will challenge you. The attack you want it to use is Super
Power and the attack you don't want it to use is Curse. Once its HP is low, and hopefully both its Attack and
Defense are low from Super Power, too, use a Premier Ball, but it may take a few tries, or maybe a dozen to
catch it.
6. REGISTEEL
AH, REGISTEEL... REAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYY not my best friend when it comes to being captured. It is
located in Route 120. Head to Route 120 from Fortee and avoid the tall grass if you wish. Once you pass the
maze of tall grass, drop down from either ledge. Head towards the gurl who gives you one random rare berry
and head up the nearby stairs. Walk upwards to thr small field of tall grass and work your way through it.
Head up the stairs and the cav is just ahead. Enter the cave.
Inside is Braille writing that says to use Flash in the very middle of the room. The cave will open.
Inside is Registeel. Trust me, no Pokeball is just right for Registeel, yet on my sixth try to catch that
fiend, Registeel, I catch it while it is asleep and with low HP with an Ultra Ball (Which usually doesn't
work at all) on my first try, so Ultra Ball it is! Walk up to it and it will challenge you. The attack you
want it to use is Secret Power, and the attack you don't want it to use is Curse. For some reason, some
Pokeballs work better if all of its stats are raised with Ancient Power (Rarely). There is no easy way of
catching it, and I guess it was luck that I caught it with one Ultra Ball. Timer Balls don't work even after
twenty turns...
7. LATIOS/LATIAS
After beating the Elite Four, you are returned to your house and Mom will inform you of a breaking news
program. During the newsflash, it'll say that the unidentified Pokemon is BZZZT. Mom will ask you what color
it was out of RED and BLUE. Choose BLUE for LATIOS, and RED for LATIAS. YOU DO NOT NEED THE AURORA TICKET!!!
Latios/Latias will appear randomly when surfing around Pacifidlog, Mossdeep, and Sootopolis. Catching [email protected]
is not easy. It may run away and Pokeballs other than the Master Ball are useless unless the conditions are
just right. I caught it with an Ultra Ball, so try that... Though it may take a while to get its HP down and
MAKE IT FALL ASLEEP (With the move Yawn).
8. DEOXYS (SPEED FORM)
First off, you need to get the Aurora Ticket. There are many theories that people make up to answer a
person's question, but there is only one true way to do so. Go to a live Nintendo event (A Convention that
is specified on the website) and obtain some secret codes from the items. Unfortunately, it says you must
defeat the Elite Four around 20 times and complete the Battle Frontier, and it is easier said than done, so
I recommend cloning your strongest Pokemon. You also need to catch 202 different Pokemon and go to Prof.
Birch. It will either be him or your mom that gives the Aurora Ticket. You must then go to Slateport and
show her the ticket. She'll take you to Birth Island.
9. MEW
Since Mew has not been released in the United States... Yet, hopefully... You need to get the Japanese
version. From what I've heard, you need two certain Pokemon and you must go to the White Rock next to the
girl in Mossdeep by the space station. The rock will crumble, releasing a key to the back of the space station.
In the U.S. version, there isn't a door, but there is one in the Japanese version.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q:Since Mew is in the game, shouldn't Mewtwo be in it, too?
A:Mewtwo isn't in the game, but you can trade it from FireRed and LeafGreen after you find it in Cureulean Cave.
Q:Can you find Celebi?
A:No, and the Japanese version doesn't have it either.
Q:What do I need to do to get Registeel in its Pokeball?
A:It's not easy, but I think I remember having its HP slightly more than 1 HP and I used an Ultra Ball when it
WASN'T asleep. If condition mattered, I had a Level 82 Blaziken.
Q:Why won't the earthquake start to open the Regi caves?
A:You need to have Wailord first and Relicanth last in your party, then read the Braille in the second cave.
Q:Why can't I find [email protected]?
A:It comes rarely, and if you missed your chance to catch it the first time, look in your Pokedex for Latios and
go to the specified area. Pokemon candy can be used to attract it.
Q:Where can I get a Jirachi?
A:You can only get it through the Colosseum Bonus Disk and trade it to Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby.
Q:I have all three Regis. How do I get Regigigas?
A:Regigigas is in Pokemon Pearl/Diamond. Migrate the Regis from Emerald by depositting them in any box and selecting
"Migrate From Emerald" while playing Pearl from the main menu. Catch them in the Pal Park and go to the Ice Temple in
at the top of the map after beating the Elite Four. Get through the obstacles and it'll be at the bottom. Make sure you
have all three in your party!
