1) INTRODUCTION
1.1) What is a warrior and why become one?
For starters, warriors are characters that use swords, axes, blunt weapons,
spears and polearms to attack enemies at a close range.

Not many people use warriors, and majority use magicians, so if you choose to
become a warrior you may be like "one of a kind".

1.2) The advantages and disadvantages.
Like I mentioned, warriors can only attack at close range, and will not
acquire any long range attacking skill until the 3rd job which is at Lv 70.
This is a major weakness, beacuse the other three jobs are allowed to use long
range attacks. Even bandits can use claws and throwing stars so warriors will
have a hard time training if any long-rangers are in the field. Warriors are
also easily kill stealed (ks-ed). This is why warriors tend to train in places
with few characters around OR train in areas where the monsters respawn very
fast. This is where the advantage comes in. Warriors have the highest HP in
the game, and are able to stand in most close ranged combat without getting
much damage. With high attacking damage, the numerous enemies will get knocked
out pretty fast. A good place for this example is the Forest Of Golem, where
all the floors are flooded with Mixed Stone Golems. Imagine a magician being
swarmed by them. Although magicians are able to attack at close range, their
attacks are far too stable to hit higher and they have the worst HP and weapon
defense. For archers and assasins, They cannot attack at close range, for the
can only whack the enemies with their weapon if they get stuck, which gives
pretty crappy damage. Just imagine that you can clear tons of swarming enemies
while the others are having a hard time fighting back. But you have to make
sure that you are able to hit the monsters without missing it. Warriors have
fairly low accuracy compared with the other jobs, so be aware of that.

1.3) The Basic Requirements
To become a warrior, you need to have at least 35 STR and be at Lv 10. When
you have the requirements, go to Perion and reach for the building at the top
of Perion and Dances With Balrog will advance you into a warrior.

2) SKILLS
2.1) Skills of a beginner warrior
A warrior will have plenty of skills to help them in combat.

2.2) Skill input guide
Warriors are well-known for their endless amount of HP. So, it is recommended
that you immediately max out Improving Max HP Increase so you get additional
HP every Level. But to do so you need to put 5 skill points into Improving HP
Recovery first. Next you should be putting your skill points into the
attacking skills, Power Strike and Slash Blast. But which attacking skill you
use will affect your future playing. For those who want to become Fighters, I
recommend putting more into Slash Blast than Power Strike, but try not to make
the difference too big. This is beacuse when Fighters advance into Crusaders,
they will have an extremely powerful attack called Panic Sword, which is a
single strong hit against the enemy. Also, do not forget to put at least 3
skill points into Iron Body, beacuse Fighters will have a skill called Rage,
which increases weapon attack of an entire party, but also decreases the
weapon defence, and Iron Body is used to negate the effect. For those who want
the Page job, I suggest you try to max out BOTH attacking skills, beacuse when
Pages advance into White Knights, they do not have any skills that enhance
their damage greatly except for Charge Blow. For those who want to become
Spearmen, I recommend maxing out Power Strike and leave Slash Blast at level
10 or lower. Why? Yes, many people prefer Slash Blast beacuse it helps alot in
training for mass killing. But, when spearmen advance into Dragon Knights, ALL
of their attacking skills are mass attacking and ALL of them require HP to do
it except for Dragon Buster. This is why ragon Knight have a massive HP
problem and need Priests to aid them in most combats. Furthermore, although
Slash Blast is relatively weak in damage, you will have Final Attack (2nd job
skill) to increase its damage.

3) 2ND JOBS
3.1) What to do
Head back to Shrine of Warriors once you've reached Lv 30, which is located at
the highest point of Perion. Go inside, talk to "Dances with Balrog". He'll
give you a letter and you've to pass it to the job advancement instructor near
Perion. After giving the letter, you'll be given an errand to collect 30 Dark
Marbles by defeating the monsters inside. Be careful to stock your potions up
before you start collecting the 30 Dark Marbles.

Once you've collected 30 Dark Marbles, talk to the instructor, and he'll award
you with a Proof of a Hero. Go back to Perion's Shrine Warrior, and talk
to "Dances with Balrog" once again, where then you'll advance as the job you
desire : The Fighter, Page or Spearman.

3.2) The Fighter
The Fighter is a warrior that specialises in using Swords and Axes. Most
Fighters have a maxed Power Strike, as they tend to specialise in solo-ing
monsters. But Fighters with a maxed Slash Blast will also be training easier.
Fighters can be considered the most basic type of warriors, as both Slash
Blast and Power Strike works for them. When you advance into 2nd job, you will
acquire many new skills that will further enhance your damage. The weapon
mastery increases your accuracy. This is a must max, for it replaces the
fairly bad accuracy of warriors and increases your base damage to give you a
more stable hit. The Final Attack skill is an extra attack that follows after
an attacking skill (Power Strike and Slash Blast) without the usage of MP. It
is VERY USEFUL, for it does up to 250% damage when maxed. This is why my
Fighter character did not bother to max Slash Blast, beacuse when Final Attack
occurs after Slash Blast, it will also hit 6 enemies, only with more power and
damage. A very useful skill. But the best skill for all Fighters in Rage. It
increases the weapon attack of ALL party members by 10 when maxed. You'll be
doing hundreds more damage when this skill is activated. Rage does have one
unfortunate drawback though, it may increase your attack, but it will also
decrease your weapon defence by 10 when maxed. This is why I recommend
Fighters to put 3 skill points into Iron Body, to negate the effect of Rage.
You do not need to put skill points into Iron Body until it adds 10 weapon
defence. Why? This is beacuse you cannot add 2 different skills on the same
status. For example, you have 200 weapon defence, and a cleric blesses you,
adding 20 weapon defence which makes it 220. If you were to activate Lv 3 Iron
Body when the Bless skill is still in tact, Iron Body will negate the effect
of Bless, so instead of having 220 weapon defence you will only have 206,
beacuse Iron Body adds 6 weapon defence in Lv 3. Booster is another skill that
increases the attcking speed of your weapon by 1 level. Example, a weapon with
a normal attacking speed will be changed to fast when used with a maxed
booster. For me, this skill is useless beacuse swords and axes are not as slow
as spears, polearms or blunt weapons. Finally, there is Power Guard. It is the
best defensive skill available for Fighters and Pages, because it reflects up
to 40% of damage received back to the enemy. Example, you originally get 100
damage from a Drake, with Power Guard on, it reflects 40% damage. So,
100x40/100 =40 and 100-40=60. Therefore, you will receive only 60 damage at
least at the Drake gets hit up to at most 40 damage.

Level 30: MP -30; For 90 seconds, return 40% of the damage received

3.3) The Page
Pages are warriors that specialises in using swords and blunt weapons. Pages
do not have any skills that increase their damage to a high level during the
3rd job, so it is recommended that pages try to max out both Power Strike and
Slash Blast. All of their skills are the same, except for the Blunt Weapon
Mastery and Blunt Weapon Final Attack. Pages do not have Rage, but they do
have Threaten, which reduces the weapon attack and defence of the monsters in
the area. A useful skill, but does no really co-operate with Power Guard,
since the main reason Power Guard is here is to reduce the taken damage. If
monsters hit you higher, it means that you will return more damage. Threaten
decreases the monster's weapon attack and thus you will reflect less damage.
Like before, Booster may not be much of a use if you are going to be a sword
page, but for those who are going to use blunt weapons, Booster will be a must
to make up for the slow attacking speed of the blunt weapons.

Level 30: MP -30; For 90 seconds, return 40% of the damage received

3.4) The Spearman
Spearmen are warriors that specialises in using spears and polearms, which
have high attack but slow attacking speed. I mentioned before that spearmen
should max out Power Strike first and leave Slash Blast at level 10 or so.
This is because Dragon Knights will have plenty of mass attacking skills
later. The spearmen are famous for their 2 best skills : Hyperbody and Iron
Will. Hyperbody, or HB, increases the HP and MP of all party members by 60%.
This is an extremely useful skill when doing a Party Quest or when fighting
tough boss monsters. Do not rely on Hyperbody too much, for there will not be
a spearman or Dragon Knight around all the time. Iron Will increases the
weapon defence and magic defence of all party members by 20. It is a good
negator for Rage's effect for all party members, since not all jobs have
skills that increases weapon defence. The Booster skill is a must for all
spearmen, beacuse spears and polearms attack really slowly.

Spear Mastery Master Level: 20

Level 20: Pole Arm Mastery 60%, accuracy +20

Final Attack : Spear Master Level: 30
Type: Passive Pre-requisite: Spear Mastery Lv. 3
Description: With a certain success rate, another attack follows after
performing an attacking skill. Only works with a spear in

hand.
Level 15: 30% success rate, final attack with spear damage 175%
Level 30: 60% success rate, final attack with spear damage 250%

Final Attack : Pole Arm Master Level: 30
Type: Passive Pre-requisite: Pole Arm Mastery Lv. 3

performing an attacking skill. Only works with a pole arm in

hand.

party around the area.
Level 15: MP -25; MaxHP +30%, MaxMP +30% for 80 seconds
Level 30: MP -50; MaxHP +60%, MaxMP +60% for 155 seconds

4) 3RD JOBS
4.1) What to do
Go to El Nath - Chief Residence and speak to Tylus. After talking to Tylus,
head back to Victoria Island and talk to "Dances with Balrog" which is located
in Perion. Next, find the Door of Dimension located at Ant Tunnel Park and
it'll bring you to "The Path of the Glittering Crystal". Walk until the end of
the path and enter the portal to defeat the wiseman's dark side to obtain the
Black Charm.

Return to "Dances with Balrog" and exchange the Black Charm for a Necklace of
Strength. Return to El Nath after that and give the item to Tylus. Head on to
the Holy Ground at the Snowfield (Sharp Cliff II). 1 Dark Crystal is requirred
to answer 5 questions to obtain the Necklace of Wisdom. Again, head back to
Tylus in El Nath and give him the Necklace of Wisdom to advance into the 3rd
job.

4.2) The Crusader
The Crusader, or crusa in short form, is one of the best 3rd job for warriors,
and has a variety of skills that makes this job unique from the other 2. The
Crusader's main move, or signature move, is the Combo Attack. Blue orbs will
add up around the crusader with every hit dealt to a maximum amount of 5.
These orbs will circle around the crusader, and are basically needed to add up
to 220% weapon attack, and to use the devastating Panic Attack and Coma
Attack. Panic Attack can be used even if you have only 2 combos, but if you
use when you fully charge up Combo Attack (5 orbs), the damage is really
great. Imagine hitting up to 20,000+ damage when you reach lv 90. The next
move, Coma Attack, is about the same as Panic Attack, only not as powerful.
You also need to charge up the Combo Attack for it to work, but 2 orbs will
work as well. Coma attacks up to 6 enemies, stunning them in the process.
Finally, the skill that will make you stop getting ks-ed - Shout is a long
ranged attacking skill that hits enemies in the area. Basically the higher
Shout's level is, the wider the area. Not only can it hit, it can also stun.
If used when combo is fully charged, it helps to add up the damage the make it
deadly. Relax is another useful skill that you must max out during the later
levels, for it saves a lot of MP pots when you are fighting. Armor Crush is
useful when fighting certain boss monsters such as Pianus, Zakum or Papulatus.
By nulifying their defense up, the rate of dealing a higher damage will be
better. I do not really recommend maxing out Shield Mastery unless you are
using a one-handed weapon, which is really rare since most warriors use two-
handed weapons.

Relax Master Level: 20

Level 10: Recover additional +20 MP
Level 20: Recover additional +30 MP

Shield Mastery Master Level: 20

Level 30: MP -35; Weapon attack +220% for 200 seconds, max combo counter 5

Panic (Sword or Axe) Master Level: 30
Type: Active Pre-requisite: Combo Attack Lv. 1
Description: Attack one monster with dark power. You can use this skill only
when you equip the sword/axe and your combo

should be charged up.
Level 15: MP -17; Weapon att. +273% and 60% probability to put it into
darkness
Level 30: MP -24; Weapon att. +350% and 90% probability to put it into
darkness

Coma (Sword or Axe) Master Level: 30

Level 30: MP -16; Basic attack +30%, attack range +200%, 95% stun for 10
seconds

4.3) The White Knight
White Knights are no really great attackers, but they have an array of
different elemental attacks that can allow them to gain the upper hand in most
battles.Like the Crusader, a White Knight has Relax and Shield Mastery, but
those are the only two they have in common. Ice charge, Fire charge and
Lightning charge are the elemental skills of a White Knight, and are
considered to be magic attacks. With these, gaining an upper hand in a battle
will not be too hard (such as Bain and Yeti). The best skill of a White Knight
is the Charge Blow, which adds up to 250% weapon attack (about the same as a
Crusader's combo attack would nearly reach) to the damage dealt. It has a stun
rate too. However, after using this skill, Ice, Fire or Lightning charge will
get cancelled. Magic Crush, like I said before, is better during boss fights,
for the elemental attacks to work better.

Relax Master Level: 20
Type: Passive
Description: Recovering even more MP every 10 sec
Level 10: Recover additional +20 MP
Level 20: Recover additional +30 MP

Shield Mastery Master Level: 20

Charge Blow or if the time runs out.
Level 15: MP -30; Adding ice attribute and weapon att. +100% for 110 seconds
Level 30: MP -35; Adding ice attribute and weapon att. +105% for 200 seconds

Level 10: MP -17; 60% probability magic guard is nullified
Level 20: MP -7; 100% probability magic guard is nullified

4.4) The Dragon Knight
Dragon Knights, or DKs, are considered to be one of the most common 3rd jobs
used for warriors, mainly beacuse of their skills and the name (Dragons ARE
powerful creatures, aren't they?) The best skill for the Dragon Knight is the
Dragon Buster, which is an attack that hits 3 enemies 3 times!!! That means 9
hits will be dealt if there are 3 enemies there. Dragon Fury is another
attacking skill almost as same as Slash Blast, only more powerful. It hits 6
enemies with 250% extra damage dealt. And the skill that will also stop Dragon
Knights getting ks-ed, Dragon Roar. Dragon Roar is a skill that allows the
Dragon Knight to attack in an area (about the same as shout, but more damage)
with very high damage, at a cost of decreasing your HP and stunning yourself
for a short amount of time. Many Dragon Knights will be using this even if
there are no monsters around, mainly just to show off. Power Crash is just
like Armor Crush and Magic Crush together, and has the effects of both skills.
This is one of the reasons why Dragon Knights are so much needed during boss
fights. Dragon Knights have another two skills that will boost their damage.
Sacrifice, sounds really bad, eh? Yes you do have to sacrifice something -
YOUR HP!!! By doing this, you will attack with 350% damage when maxed out. The
higher the skill level, the less HP you will need to sacrifice. The next skill
is Dragon Blood. Every 4 seconds, an amount of HP will be decreased from you
and give a boost in attack. And at last, the skill that is considered to be
the weakest of all - Elemental Resistance. It is not as bad as it sounds
though, for it has 40% resistance against magic attacks. VERY useful,
considering that warriors have the lamest magic defence ever.

5) Training
5.1) Good Training Spots
To be a good warrior, you need to know how and where to train. Train smartly.

Levels 10-15 : Try out slimes. They give better experience than stumps do.
Orange mushrooms are a good option at this time. Want more challenge? Try out
the Pig Beach.

Levels 16-20 : If you are really broke, stick with Orange mushrooms. If you
are a funded warrior and want more challenge, try out Green and Horny
mushrooms in the Tree Dungeons of Ellinia.

Levels 21-25 : At level 21, you are able to do the Kerning Party Quest (PQ)
but I do not recommend it for it is still too early for warriors (remember
what I said about accuracy?). Green and Horny mushrooms are especially good at
this time.

Levels 26-30 : If the Tree Dungeon is beginning to be boring by now, try out
Ant Tunnel 1 in the Victoria Island Dungeon for Zombie mushrooms and Hornies,
or The Land Of Wild Boar in Perion for Wild Boars and Dark Axe Stumps.

Levels 31-35 : Go for Fire Boars in the Burnt Land 1. They give good
experience and money for monsters their HP. Ligators are an alternative at
this time.

Levels 36-40 : At level 35, you are able to do the Ludibrium PQ now, and you
are able to start immediately if you want to. If not, try out Mask Fishes in
Aqua Road, or Jr kitties (Jr Cellion, Jr Lioner and Jr Grupin) in Orbis.

Levels 41-45 : At this time, PQing should not be a problem anymore. If you are
lazy to wait for it, go for Chronos or Ticks in Ludibrium.

Levels 46-50 : Block Golems, Tobos, and Toy Trojans are good at this stage,
with good money and drops. I suggest you try to do Ludibrium PQ for the last
few times for some good rewards to help you after you reach level 51.

Levels 51-55 : Ludirium PQ is not possible for you anymore. At this time,
there are a lot of options for you. You can try out Drakes, Cold Eyes, Stone
Golems, Master Chronos, Sparker and Freezer, Jr Yetis and Wild Cargo (if your
accuracy is high enough).

Levels 56-60 : Dark Stone Golems should not be a problem now. Same thing
applies to Red Drakes once you hit level 60. If you want a bit more challenge,
go to El Nath and take on Hectors, White Pang, Pepe and Yetis. Coolie zombies
are also a good option.

Levels 61-70 : Most people say Mixed Golems are a favourite at this stage, but
the Forest Of Golem in the Dungeon is mostly full because of the incredible
amount of Mixed Golems there. You are lucky enough if you can get a slot
there. If you want a more peaceful place, go for Wild Cargos. Nobody trains
there mainly because of the long distance between the Potion shop and the
training area. If you get enough potions, you can stay out for as long as 2
hours without repotting. Coolies are still good at this stage.

Levels 71-85 : During this long training stage, the best place would be the
parking lot in Showa, beacuse of the quick spawn rate and high experience from
the monsters.

Levels 85 and above : By now you should undertand most of the monsters in
Maple Story. I strongly suggest that you break off from training and try
taking on a boss monster once in a while. Find something you can train easily
on, focus on it, and eventually you will get to a high level.

5.2) Training By PQ-ing
Party Quest, or PQ, is a repeatable quest that needs 4 party members (for
Kerning) and 6 party members (for Ludibrium) to do. A Party Quest is mainly to
test the co-operation between you and your teammates. If a PQ is successful,
the rewards are most enjoyable. For those who are wishing to do Kerning PQ, I
suggest you start at levels 25 or higher if you are wishing to kill the
monsters yourselves. At level 21, warriors will have a hard time hitting the
Ligators. If you miss the Ligators then you will definitely miss the King
Slime. Starting from level 25, your accuracy should be enough the give the
Ligators some really hard hits, not to mention the King Slime as well. For
Ludibrium PQ, if you are lucky enough, a party leader will invite you to do
the PQ. Ludibrium PQ needs 6 members to enter and complete. If one person
disconnects or dies inside the PQ, it is still possible for 5 members to
complete the quest. If there is only 4 left, however, then the quest cannot be
done and you have to restart. At level 35, a complete and successful Ludibrium
PQ will give you up to 25% of your experience needed to level up. That is a
lot, which is why it is entirely up to you, whether you want to level using PQ
or not. At level 35, you can forget about hitting the Rombots is stage 7 or
the boss monster, Alishar in the last stage. Even lv 35 assasins cannot hit
Alishar. But once you reach level 45, Alishar will be easier for you to kill
(better with Maple weapons). Ludibrium PQ has a level range from levels 35 to
50, so when you reach level 50, make sure you do the Ludibrium PQ one more
last time and try to solo Alishar with a cleric healing you. Trust me, it will
be heaps of fun. =)

5.3) Strategic Training
Many people say that warriors are the toughest to train. Sometimes, that is
true, beacuse of the lack of movement skills and long ranged attacks. But
warriors can train just as fast as the other classes when they find a good
training spot. One good example for this is the Drake's Hunting Ground in
Victoria Island Dungeon. This map is totally packed with Drakes, Cold Eyes and
a few Wild Cargos. Start by killing from the entrance, which is the bottom of
the map. Slowly make your way up the map (there's even a snail spawn somewhere
in the middle O.o). At the top of the map, there will be A LOT of Drakes up
there. Trust me, you might even think somebody has been vacuum hacking here.
But its not, its actually too many Drakes up there. Just get up there and
Slash Blast your way to victory. In the Forest Of Golem, more players killing
means faster spawn rate. There is almost no time to get the loot from the
Mixed Golems. It seems like they spawn instantly after you killed some. This
is why the place is usually packed. There are few safe spots here where you
can rest or afk (away from keyboard) though. If you manage your skills
properly, training will not be quite hard. Some warriors try to max out Power
Strike without putting at least 1 skill point into Slash Blast at an early
level. This is wrong, if you try to max out Power Strike first, killing at the
Pig Beach will be tough and the pigs spawn real fast. If you have Slash Blast,
it may cost some HP, but killing will be much easier. Also, try to avoid big
maps. Training will be much easier if you do not have to walk around, finding
monsters all the time. The smaller the map the better, unless the monsters
spawn real fast.

6) Some Explanations
After reading my FAQ, some questions will probably pop into your head. I have
some questions and answers here, but if you did not find your question here
you can e-mail me through my e-mail (check Contact Information).

Q : Why does a spearman need to max out Power Strike and not Slash Blast since
training with Slash Blast is easier?
A : Training with Slash Blast is easier, but did you notice that all of the
Dragon Knight's attacking skill are all multiple attacking skills? This means
that when you are a Dragon Knight you will have plenty of killing to do. In
addition to that, Dragon Knights have a serious HP problem beacuse all of the
skills of a Dragon Knight require HP to use, except for Dragon Buster, Power
Crash and Elemental Resistance.

Q : Which 3rd job is the best for warriors?
A : This depends on how you input the skills and how you use them. Crusaders
for massive damage in a single hit, making it easier to knock back enemies,
White Knights for elemental attacks and Dragon Knights for mass attacking.

Q : Some people put skill points for the mastery for both weapons they use
(example:spear mastery and polearm mastery). This is wrong right?
A : If they have skill points in both mastery/final attack for both weapons,
you are looking at a Hybrid. A Hybrid is a character that has balanced skills
of both weapons. The advantage is that you can master both weapons and deal
more damage. The disadvantage is that you are unable to completely unlock the
skill's full potential.

Q : What are Maple weapons?
A : Maple weapons are special weapons that are released during MapleSEA's very
first anniversary. Maple weapons add a great deal of accuracy and the status
that is suitable for each job (STR, DEX, INT and LUK). For example, a Maple
Dragon Axe, which is a two-handed axe, are for warriors. Therefore, it adds
some accuracy and STR to the weapon. Same goes for all the classes, some
accuracy and INT for magicians, DEX for archers, and LUK for thieves.
